Important Announcement


We are informing you that we have recently learned of a suspected case of Pertussis here at Freedom High School.  That individual has been treated and medically cleared to return to school. A letter was sent home with your child on Tuesday, April 09, outlining details of Pertusis. Please see the attached documents.

Spring Sports Banquet

All members of the Outdoor Track (B & G), Soccer (B&G) (All Levels), Tennis (B & G), and Baseball, Softball, and LAX (B&G) teams are invited to the Spring Sports Banquet on Wednesday, May 29th, 6 pm at Freedom's
 Stadium.  Family members are also invited. If you have any questions, contact your coach or a member of the athletic department. Athletes that will attend, please pick up your ticket from your coach on May 21st before 2pm.  
GRADUATION DATE CHANGED!!!

Freedom High School's graduation date for the class of 2013 has changed to Saturday, June 8th at 7:00pm at the George Mason University Patriot Center!  Please plan accordingly.
Freedom Alumni Wins Major Grant

Emmanuel Abebrese, a Washington and Lee University sophomore, has won a $10,000 grant from the Davis Projects for Peace 2013. Abebrese, a native of Ghana, will use the award to carry out initiatives at Ashaiman Apostolic Academy Mission School in Ghana.

Did you purchase your YEARBOOK? They are still available for $70. Please send $70 cash or money order to room 1144/1104 to purchase your book today. Layaway is still available. $10 down reserves your personal book. Don't delay! Limited quantities are available. The Online Purchase Center option ended April 30th. Books will only be sold through the school. SENIORS, please remember the yearbook is NOT included with your Senior Dues. See Mrs. Gates with any questions.

Photos and names of students and staff are allowed on PWCS Web sites for the purpose of publicizing school activities or student achievement, but Web Managers are cautioned to use them with discretion, and in accordance with Regulation 790-3, Release of Directory Information, which gives students and their parents/guardians the right to opt out of public disclosure of their names, photos, and other student information. Rules of the Road

EpiPens for Emergency Use

Under a new state law, all schools will have an EpiPen for emergency use if a student suffers an unanticipated allergic reaction. Please click here for complete PWCS information.
Code of Behavior Updated

Please take some time before the start of the 2012-2013 school year to review the recently updated PWCS Code of Behavior. Links to the Code of Behavior are also available at left under For Parents & Students/PWCS.
Student Parking Permits

Student parking decals can be purchased for the 2012-2013 school year through the School Security Office. Please see Freedom's School Security Web page for additional information.
Mandatory Concussion Training Meeting

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ANY ACTIVITY OR SPORT UNTIL THE STUDENT AND PARENT ATTENDS A CONCUSSION TRAINING SESSION at their high school.

Concussion Training: Any student wanting to participate with any athletic team during the 2012-2013 school year must attend one of the following meetings. We will be starting promptly at 7:00 PM.
High School students are required to attend ONLY high school concussion training sessions.

Middle School students are required to attend ONLY middle school concussion training sessions.
