Welcome to Freedom High School

where TEACHERS are LEADERS and STUDENTS are SCHOLARS.

Freedom welcomes new Assistant Principal

I am excited to be the 10th Grade Assistant Principal at Freedom High School and it is an honor to have the opportunity to serve such a dedicated admin team and community.  At Freedom High School, I pledge to support our teachers with providing opportunities for all students to become scholars.

This is my 18th year in education which I have worked in FCPS for 13 years teaching Biology, Life Science and AP Environmental Science.  Also I have participated in the FCPS Intern Leadership Development Program, LEAD Fairfax, Acting Assistant Principal, CLT Leader, Department Chair and Mentor.  I have a Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction.

I love the Dallas Cowboys, gardening, and my favorite colors are pink and green.

My educational philosophy supports teachers as leaders and students as scholars when we commit to the “You can, I can, We can together” perspective.

Freedom Students and School Counselors Mentor Through Soccer
An after school mentoring program on Wednesdays at Potomac View Elementary School was started by school counselors Roberto Rolong (Freedom High) and Randy Scott (Potomac View) with the help of three Freedom senior soccer players, Mauricio Martinez, Christian Chavez, and Giovanni Diaz. The program has 30 elementary school student participants and has been extremely well received. Students develop their soccer skills along with good sportsmanship, relationship building, and teamwork.  Way to go guys!
